Film Name: The Contract

Tagline:  From A* to Class A

Log line: A young student makes an unforeseen U turn into villainies multiple crimes, when he realizes betrayal is upon him, he decides to take matters into his own hands...

Story Line: ‘The Contract’ is a Crime/Thriller/Drama. It’s about a young student, Trevor Walts who makes an unexpected U turn into the dark side acting under the alias of ‘Hagen’. Otherwise, known as ‘The king of cocaine’ due to his weapon of choice, he ventures in to the devastating world of drugs and violence. When he realizes he faces exposure from a trusted friend he has two choices, get in to the underworld even more or face the facts and work towards a brighter future.  He is an intelligent mindful young man and won’t let anything destroy his empire. When he does his business, he intends to keep it discreet. When he agrees a deal, he makes certain  his contracts are signed on blood! There's no going back! Is this going to be a positive or negative one? When he decides to take matters in to his own hands will be smart enough to cope with the fallback?

-Title The title is on top of the central image. This is because it is easy to spot so people know the what the film poster referring to or what it is . Also it is in a large font, this is because it is easy to read and so it stands out.

-Stars/Actors/Directors- The audience will be familiar with the main actor   

-Secondary Image- The audience will notice the party behind the central image then will be intrigued  and would want to know more.

-Release Date(December 25)-This film poster does have the release date at the bottom of the poster as it is not as much important towards the other key conventions on this poster

  • I know that this film fits into this genre as in the trailer there's some one liners which suggests its funny to the viewers. Also the main character has some legal troubles which also suggest that its a crime film.
  • The Wolf Of Wall Street is not a squeal 
  • The film does mention the directer in the trailer as he is popular to attract viewers.

This movie is about two regular men going to part dressed as cops but later realise they are being seen differently while walking in the main street. Then later decide to carry on being cops.

Characters:

They characters are typical of a Hollywood comedy- the main characters are casual quite, funny and layed back but as the movie progress become brave and willing to stop the villains.Proving to be a comedy/action. The villains are typical stereotypical eastern European villains.

Iconography:

There's plenty of iconography typical of a comedy/action genre: one liners, explosions, funny scenes, guns.All of these are typical of the action or comedy genres - in connection with the narrative, we can confidently say this is a action/comedy.

Setting: 

Although the trailer is 2 mins long, it is safe to say that the film is based in LA in the USA. Within the city their is clearly action stunts set in LA.

The movie is about marvel super heros saving the world.When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and it is up to The Avengers to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plans.

The characters are different towards each other they all have their own agenda. Theirs iron man, Thor, captain america and hulk. these are the classic marvel characters.

Iconography:

There's plenty of iconography typical of a action genre:explosions, fire, guns and weapons.All of these are typical of the action  genre - in connection with the narrative, we can confidently say this is a action.

Setting:

The film is manly based in the USA. Although the trailer is 2 mins long, it is safe to say that the film is based in the USA. Within the country  their is clearly action stunts set in USA.


Genre: Comedy/Christmas

Narrative:

The pupils of St Bernadette's and the madcap Mr Poppy (MARC WOOTTON) are back! When their new teacher Mr Shepherd (MARTIN CLUNES) loses his memory as well as Archie the Donkey, it's up to them to save the day and reunite him with his fiancée Sophie (CATHERINE TATE) in New York. Prepare for a race against time, fantastic flashmobs and plenty of Christmas fun on their greatest adventure yet.

Character:

The movie is of two British stars, Marc Wootton and Martin Clunes. Marc Wootton acts to be a primary school teacher, who goes by the name of Mr Poppy. Marin Clunes acts as being a new school teacher, going by the name of Mr Shepherd. These characters fit into this movie as they're well-known for many Christmas movies such Nativity 1 and Nativity 2.

There are many iconography of comedy and Christmas genre:one liners, Christmas songs, funny scenes, snow. All of these are typical of the Christmas or comedy genres- in connection with the narrative, we can confidently say this is a Christmas comedy.
