      Sky News 

Q1. The key information about the programme:

A. The channel is broadcast on:
The channel is broadcast on TV, tablets, computers and phone. The channel even has a application.

B.  The days and time of broadcast:
This channel is on everyday and the time is 24 hours.

C. The presenter or presenters:
The  sky news has many presenters of different days and different times.  They have about 600 staff and about 50 of them work on screen. These are the some of the presenters; Eamonn Holmes, Isabel Webster, Stephen Dixon and more.

D. Average viewing figures:

The figures are 11.5 million.

E. Any awards the programme has won:

It has won the royal television society  2011.
BAFTA awards  for the coverage 11 September 2001 attack and soham murders 2003.
International Emmy breaking news award 2005.

F. The logo/brand identity of the programme.

The slogan of the company is first for breaking news. The logo has the name "sky news" but sky written in black an news written in white and it has white and red background.

Q2. The institution behind the programme.

A. What year the channel was launched?
The channel was launched on 5 February 1989.

B. Who owns or runs the channel?
The  channel is owned by BSkyB. The chairman is Nicholas ferguson and CEO is Jeremy Darroch.

C. What the channel is famous for or associated with?
The channel is famous because it doesn't only have a news channel it also has  a sports and many other types of channels. It also has a router and landline.

D. The channel logo:


E. A YouTube trailer advertising a show on the channel.



Q3. The target audience.
The target audience is 10 age plus because it is appropriate for kids as it does not have any type of swearing or inappropriate things to show. However it does have bloody images. It could also say bad things about a group.

Q4. The running order for three separate editions of the programme.

A. The stories which appeared.
The stories which appeared was that: Charles bronson  jailed for attack on governor, hunt for missing Isaac Nash enters fourth day and the first Islamic state bomber caught in Iraq.

B. In order in which the stories were broadcast.
The stories were broadcasted bye a lady talking about the incident and the passing it to another reporter who is in the area where the incidents happened then they showed a images or videos of that incident and then they would interview a person who is there  where the incident took place.

C. Why you think the editors of the news programme chose those stories and put them in that order.

I think they putted it in that order because it is easy to understand and they did not wanted the audience to get confused  on what's going on.

  1. WWW: Sky News is a good choice to research and you have picked out some important details about the channel. However...
    EBI: There are many mistakes or missing sections and you haven't followed the instructions correctly for the final part. You were supposed to watch Sky News on three different days and list the different stories in the order they were broadcast. It's vital that you develop this kind of understanding of news programmes for the exam. The target audience is also a weak link here.
